What is your actual need for this new piece?

If you think about it, what do you actually, really, seriously need? What is missing in your wardrobe, that you need to have?

Does it fit to your lifestyle?

What you want to buy, does it fit into how you live and what you do? Can you use it a lot or will it be one of those, "one-event" pieces?

Do you know your personal style and what you feel comfortable in?

What do you usually wear most? Does it match up to these pieces? Because those are your most sustainable ones.

Does the style, color etc. fit to your wardrobe?

Does the new piece fit into your wardrobe and compliment it? Or else you might create a new problem where nothing matches and won't be used.

Can you find it second-hand or a sustainable version of it?

Is the new piece something you can find in a second-hand store? Knowing how to shop second-hand. Otherwise, is there a brand that offers a more sustainable version?

Is the piece you want to buy the best and most affordable version?

Going through all the steps and finding the piece, is this the best you could find? Will you be content and happy with it? This increases your chances of using it to full potential and not discarding it soon!
